Camden County Library Black History Month Series: “The Passion and Pride of the Peter Mott House Underground Railroad Museum”

International Flameworking Conference

“Each spring, Salem Community College hosts the International Flameworking Conference (IFC), a three-day event that promotes excellence in flameworking through artist demonstrations and scholarly presentations. The weekend attracts glass artists and enthusiasts from around the nation and world. Salem Community College and the SCC Foundation are indebted to distinguished members of the glass art community who have graciously shared their talents at the IFC.
The 2025 International Flameworking Conference at Salem Community College (SCC) will be the 23rd installment of this nationally and internationally attended event that celebrates excellence in the glass-working process known as flameworking. In 2025, the conference will continue its core mission of education, and in the promotion of the techniques and its practitioners. The weekend gathering of the international flameworking community includes presentations, demonstrations, exhibits, and vendor displays. This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, through the Salem County Board of Commissioners, and Salem County Cultural and Heritage Commission.

Weston will also seek input on ways to make Timbuctoo more engaging for visitors, since the primary above ground evidence of Timbuctoo’s history is a small cemetery. Haddonfield Commissioners will make it (un)official for couples interested in renewing their vows, getting married (official NJ documents required), getting engaged, or making partnership commitments. “2025 Mike's Seafood 5K Run -Walk for Autism is on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at JFK and the Boardwalk, 12:00 noon start. Proceeds benefit Special Services Schools, Autism Support Groups, Families of Special Needs Children, and Autism Speaks.
This unique event encourages runners and walkers of all ages to participate with their families, while supporting a worthwhile cause. Please review the event application for prize details for both men and women in the various age classifications for the 5K run. The walk is a non-competitive event. Then join us in the HUGE HEATED tents outside Excursion Park for Live Music, an Awards Ceremony, Door-Prizes, and Magicians and Face Painting for the Kids! All while enjoying a large Buffet consisting of: Bagels, Donuts, Pastries, Soft Pretzels, Fruit and Drinks. Winter Warrior Festival

“Show your grit, effort, resilience, and courage on a 2.5 mile course with 10 obstacles along the way on this President’s Day Weekend. The event is run out of the Civic Center and includes four components: an obstacle course race for children, a “Winter Warrior” obstacle course race for parents and individuals, team challenges such as a fire truck pull, and an indoor festival for all participants and sponsors. During the course, look out for obstacles like sand mounds, tire runs, floating steps, and cargo net climbs along the way. The Winter Warrior race is for those 14 and older. The Kids Challenge Course includes a rock wall, hazard wall, cargo net, agility poles, teeter plank, monkey bars, a noodle tower, and more. The course is open for those 13 and younger and begins at 10 a.m. The “Winter Warrior” Festival (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) will be filled with vendors, hot chocolate, music, and fire heaters.
